Containment System

The Containment node hosts freeze wells and freeze monitors, which can be used for modeling the freeze wall of an unconventional shale oil project.

Modeling Freeze Wells

Freeze Wells are a series of freeze and monitor wells that create a barrier that isolates the area to produce in a shale oil project. Freeze walls are not explicitly represented as PetroVR objects, but can be modeled by means of cloning jobs that replicate the wells needed to cover the length of the wall. Regardless of the geometry of the containment, you can identify segments of the wall with separate jobs that clone a pattern of several freeze wells alternating with monitor wells. By using separate cloning jobs you can access the different operative and capital costs related to each segment disaggregatedly.
